Down to Earth
I have lived out all my span
Like an other country man
Where men like grasshoppers appear
But grasshoppers are giants there
Received into their cruel care
Ruled and did what they please
The thorns with which I long too long
Made many a piercing wounds
And now All I want is to lay still
Far off the public stage
Pass away my silent age
Settled in some secret nest
In peace of mind let me rest.
